Job summary

NRG Energy seeks an Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to lead safety and regulatory programs at Aurora and Rockford generating facilities. The role drives a safety-over-production culture, ensures OSHA, EPA, IEPA and NERC compliance, and administers EH&S systems and budgets.

The successful candidate will oversee investigations, data collection, incident reporting, and coordination with corporate safety teams while traveling between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
• Five+ years of EH&S leadership in power generation/utilities preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, USEPA, IEPA, and NERC regulations required.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day EH&S and NERC compliance for two facilities.
• Develop and manage environmental, health and safety programs and budgets.
• Coordinate audits, investigations, and regulatory reporting; drive a culture of safety.
