Job summary

ArborWorks is seeking an EH&S Specialist – Utility Vegetation Management to lead safety across field operations in Austin, TX, with travel across multiple states. You will coach crews, evaluate employee readiness, and ensure compliance with OSHA/ANSI standards in high-risk environments.

The role emphasizes on-site coaching, field observations, and documentation to drive safer work practices, including incident support and cross-functional collaboration with Operations and leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate’s degree or technical coursework in Arboriculture, Forestry, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of utility vegetation management experience.
• At least 1 year as a Qualified Line Clearance Tree Trimmer (QLCTT) or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in crew leadership, field training, or employee evaluation.
• Strong knowledge of utility vegetation management practices and hazards.
• Proficiency with mobile technology and digital reporting tools.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills with ability to influence safety behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Field Safety & Operational Oversight: conduct field safety observations and hazard assessments; ensure OSHA/ANSI standards during active operations; promote proactive safety culture.
• Workforce Evaluation & Classification: assess and validate employee competencies across all job classifications; determine readiness for promotions.
• Training & Field Coaching: deliver hands-on coaching on safe work practices; evaluate performance in core UVM tasks; reinforce standardized methods.
• Compliance & Incident Support: assist in incident investigations; maintain regulatory knowledge; document findings and actions.
• Cross-Functional Support: collaborate with Operations to align safety with workforce needs; act as safety subject matter resource.
