Job summary

MACOM is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer to lead EHS policies, training, and regulatory compliance across its NC sites. The role requires ensuring OSHA/EPA compliance, maintaining EHS management systems, and supporting safety audits and certifications.

Strong communication and 5+ years of EHS experience in a semiconductor setting are essential; travel may be required. Remote work is not indicated for this posting, and RSU eligibility is noted for MACOM employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in industrial/semiconductor environments.
• Experience with EPA, OSHA, AQMD, CAL/OSHA regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• CIH, CSP or equivalent certification is an advantage; RSO/LSO certification helpful.
• Some domestic travel required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, review and update EHS policies and procedures per federal, state and local rules.
• Maintain OSHA, EPA and other guidelines to support MACOM’s semiconductor operations.
• Develop and sustain EHS management systems across multiple sites in the US.
• Oversee EHS audits focusing on critical operations and hazard controls.
• Maintain hazard communication programs, Safety Data Sheets, and chemical inventories.
• Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 reporting; assist with IATF 16949 and AS9100 initiatives.
• Manage Laser and Radiation safety programs and workers’ compensation investigations.

The focus of this position is to develop and maintain sustainable Environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures, and programs that ensure operational compliance with company, customer, and global governmental EHS rules and regulations.The primary objectives are to protect employees, customers and the environment by identifying, controlling or eliminating risks and hazards that could cause injury and illness or cause harm to the environment.The primary responsibilities of the EHS Engineer are to oversee, support, and ensure compliance with environmental, and occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and standards applicable to MACOM’s operations in North Carolina.**Main Duties and Responsibilities:**• Plan, review and update environmental health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with all Federal, State, and local government regulations as well as company and customer standards.• Work to maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and municipal guidelines with a specific focus on the Semiconductor business• Support the development and sustaining of the EHS Management System for multiple sites in the US.• Support the site specific EHS Committees• Support the Emergency Response Team for sites in NC.• Conduct EHS audits on a recurring basis with an emphasis on critical areas of operations, e.g. hazardous gas bunkers, hydrogen storage, toxic gas monitoring and delivery, wastewater treatment, fire protection, life safety systems, chemical & flammable handling, and storage.• Identify EHS issues and recommend corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist.• Maintain hazard communication programs, Safety Data Sheets, and chemical inventory information.• Gather data to assist with filling of site specific regulatory permits: Storm Water, Air, Waste, Waste-Water Treatment, Fire safety, and operating permits.
