Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a Test Set Design Engineer to design and fabricate EGSE test sets for ground test of Flight hardware. You'll work in a small EGSE Design Team supporting multiple programs, delivering power, control, telemetry, safety interlocks and cooling.

Responsibilities include panel and cable design, schematics, acceptance criteria, troubleshooting, integration in lab, and coordinating with engineers, operators, technicians, security, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of relevant experience; 0 years with a Master's.
• For Level 3: Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Master's; 1 year with a PhD.
• Proficient in hardware design including panel and cable design and schematics.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in hardware design.
• Active SECRET clearance, ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

• Panel & cable design, electrical interconnects & schematics, developing acceptance criteria & certification procedures, and hardware checkout/troubleshooting.
• Root cause determination, problem resolution and documentation.
• Hands-on integration, checkout, and troubleshooting of test equipment builds in a lab environment.
• Interface with subsystem test engineers, test operators, technicians, systems admins, security, and vendors.
• Full design cycle of EGSE from conception to fabrication and integration/test.
