Job summary

Versova is seeking a Candler I to ensure only high-quality eggs are processed on the production line. You will monitor and remove eggs that fail quality checks, including eggshell issues, rotten eggs, dirty eggs, and any foreign materials.

The role requires working efficiently in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating egg quality and speed, following USDA and GMP standards, SQF, and HACCP procedures. You will communicate with plant staff and supervision, assist with cleanup, and participate

Qualifications

• Required: 0-2 years in manufacturing/processing
• Ability to operate egg processing equipment
• Basic math skills for counting and measuring
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Attention to detail and quality consciousness
• Basic understanding of safety procedures in a food processing environment
• Teamwork and ability to work with others
• Time management to maintain pace
• Overtime, weekends and holidays as production requires

Responsibilities

• Monitor and remove poor quality eggs from the production line
• Ensure processed eggs meet USDA requirements
• Remove eggshells, bloody eggs, dirty eggs, and rotten eggs
• Identify and remove foreign materials from the product flow
• Place dirty eggs onto flats for re-washing
• Notify supervisor of excessive broken eggs or machine issues
• Assist with clean-up and removal of inedible product
• Adhere to USDA regulations, GMPs, SQF, Safety Programs, Biosecurity, HACCP, and Food Defense
• Communicate with plant supervisor, QC, USDA, and staff
• Help train and assist other team members
• Other duties as assigned
