Job summary

Versova is seeking a Candler I to ensure only high-quality eggs are processed on the production line. You will monitor, sort, and remove eggs not meeting quality standards, adhering to USDA requirements and safety programs in a fast-paced facility.

The role requires basic math, ability to operate processing equipment, and strong attention to detail. OCR-compliant training provided; overtime and weekend shifts may be required based on production demand.

Qualifications

• Must have 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or processing environment.
• Ability to operate egg processing equipment.
• Basic math skills for counting and measuring.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Attention to detail and quality consciousness.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures in a food processing environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and remove poor quality eggs from the production line (eggshells, rotten, dirty, bloody).
• Ensure processed eggs meet or exceed USDA requirements.
• Identify and remove foreign materials from the product flow.
• Place dirty eggs onto flats for re-washing.
• Notify supervisor of excessive breakage or machine issues.
• Assist with clean-up and removal of inedible product.
• Comply with USDA regulations, GMPs, SQF, safety programs, HACCP, and related policies.
• Communicate with plant supervisor, QC, USDA, and staff.
