Job summary

Aviagen in Elkmont, AL seeks an outstanding manager to oversee the daily operations of the egg distribution center. This role includes staffing, reporting, and ensuring timely distribution and shipping, reporting to the VP, Feed and Logistics.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in production/hatchery, strong communication and organizational skills, and a BA/BS in Management or Poultry Science is preferred. Weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in production or hatchery procedures.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated with accuracy and efficiency; good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Team-oriented; previous management and supervisory experience a plus.
• BA/BS in Management or Poultry Science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate directions, schedules, and requirements to staff.
• Be familiar with the Depot operation and current procedures.
• Coordinate paperwork, inventories, and personnel to ensure accurate, timely orders.
• Maintain a clean and fully operational facility.
• Produce regular and/or required reports.
• Ensure bio-security, animal welfare, and safety requirements are followed.
• Manage departmental cost control and annual budget.
• Conduct annual evaluations and appraisals of department personnel.
• Some weekend work may be required; other duties as assigned.
