Job summary

Silgan Plastics Corporation is seeking a line operator to ensure product safety and quality across duties. The role requires promoting a safe working environment, adhering to safety policies, and monitoring for defects on the line.

Responsibilities include packing at standard rate, operating a punch, loading conveyors and flamers, and maintaining housekeeping around the line. The candidate should be able to handle 30-40 lb materials and follow supervisor instructions in compliance with laws.

Responsibilities

• Ensure product safety and quality in all duties.
• Promote a safe working environment.
• Adhere to Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers.
• Monitor ware for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/or the coordinator.
• Pack at standard rate.
• Operate a punch.
• Load conveyors and flamers.
• Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary.
• Remove scrap from around the line.
• Grind and pull plastic as needed.
• Make and unitize cartons as assigned.
• Initial and date box labels.
• Make out unit tickets.
• Follow any other job-related instructions from supervisor in compliance with laws.
• Ability to lift 30-40 lb. materials.
