Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a Dock Worker to safely load and unload freight at our service center in Alabama. You will strap, brace, and pad freight to prevent damage and ensure correct documentation of freight conditions upon arrival.

A valid forklift background or certification is preferred, and you must meet lifting requirements and pass pre-employment screenings. You will perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment, maintain reliable attendance, and be prepared to work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Prior operation of a forklift or forklift certification preferred.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
• Physical activities include standing, walking, lifting, twisting, turning, etc.

Responsibilities

• Properly load and unload freight using equipment or by hand.
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting.
• Record the condition of freight as it arrives at the service center.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspection of dock equipment.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties as assigned may be required to meet operational needs.
