Job summary

Estes Express Lines in Morrisville, NC is seeking a Dock Worker to load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand, strap and pad freight to prevent damage, and accurately record freight condition upon arrival.

You will perform pre/post shift inspections, work various shifts including overtime and weekends, and comply with safety rules. Physical ability to lift ~70 lbs and work under tight deadlines in a high-volume environment is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Prior forklift operation experience or certification preferred.
• Able to push/pull a loaded pallet jack/hand truck with at least 70 lbs.
• Physical: standing, walking, lifting, twisting, turning.
• Must work all shifts, including overtime and weekends; dependable.
• Able to lift approximately 70 lbs or more as required.
• Comply with company policies, safety rules and conduct.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand.
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting.
• Record the condition of freight as it arrives at the service center.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Possess ability to perform additional duties as assigned, including safety and operational needs.
• Interact well with others and work independently or in a team.
• Meet deadlines in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
