Job summary

University of North Dakota is seeking a part-time, non-benefited Dining Services Student Employee for the on-campus dishroom. This position offers 10–20 hours weekly with no remote option and requires UND student eligibility.

Typical duties include washing, sorting, and loading dishes, maintaining a clean dish area, and providing courteous customer service. Requires ability to stand, lift 35–50 pounds, and follow food-safety rules.

Qualifications

• Able to stand for 3–4 hours.
• Able to follow instructions.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to handle and prepare meat products in a commercial kitchen.
• Compliance with all food safety and sanitation requirements including jewelry removal and wearing a hairnet.
• Able to move 35–50 pounds.
• Able to work in various temperatures associated with dish machine operations.

Responsibilities

• Scrubbing pots and pans and loading dishes onto the machine.
• Sort and wash dishes, silverware, trays and pans; return clean items to storage.
• Inspect dishes, silverware, trays, and pans for proper cleaning.
• Operate dish machine according to instructions.
• Other duties may include sweeping and mopping.
• Provide excellent customer service to customers.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary dish room and keep carts and trays clean.
• Clean conveyor belt daily; remove garbage and rinse/sanitize cans.
• Other duties as assigned.
