Job summary

University of North Dakota in Grand Forks seeks a part-time, non-benefited Dining Services Student Employee. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position, which offers daytime shifts and no visa sponsorship.

Primary duties include setting tables, laying linens, assisting guests, serving knowledgeably, bussing after each course, cleaning, and maintaining safety and personal appearance standards. Availability between 10am and 3pm is required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand for 3–4 hours
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle and prepare meat products in a commercial kitchen
  • Compliance with all food safety and sanitation requirements including taking out jewelry and wearing a hairnet.
  • Must have availability between the hours of 10am-3pm
  • Able to move up to 45 lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Set-up the tables, lay table linens, chairs, silverware, centerpieces, glassware etc., as assigned
  • Attend to the guest’s needs and requests
  • Server must have knowledge on what food he or she is serving in the case of a guest asking
  • Promptly bus dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal
  • Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service, including washing and putting away dishes
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our guests
  • Must have availability between the hours of 10am-3pm

Job description

Salary/Position Classification
  • $15.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 10-20 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No
