Job summary

The Winn-Dixie Company is hiring a front-end cashier to provide accurate, fast, and courteous checkout service. You will scan, bag, and handle payments while expediting Groceries through the lane and maintaining financial responsibility in your service area.

You will operate the POS system, handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP, WIC, and other tender types, adhere to loss-prevention measures, and assist customers from checkout to vehicle, ensuring safe and efficient service.

Responsibilities

• Creates a welcoming environment to boost customer confidence and loyalty, following service standards.
• Operates the POS, processes various tender types, and records sales according to policy.
• Assists customers by unloading purchases, packing, and loading groceries to vehicles; checks prices when needed.
• Collects shopping carts from parking areas and returns them to designated areas.
• Maintains safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance; reports hazards and accidents; observes wage/hour policies.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
