Job summary

HealthNet in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA). The role performs restoration placement/finishing, coronal polishing, fluoride application, and supports the dentist and clinical team across our network.

You’ll handle operatory setup, patient intake, x-ray imaging, charting, and occasional travel to other Health Center locations. Requires radiology training, DANB/X-ray, CPR/BLS, HS diploma, and 1–2 years’ experience.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required.
• Radiology course or accredited program completed.
• DANB certification.
• X-ray certification required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Coronal Polishing certification appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operatory and treatment areas for planned procedures.
• Escort patients to clinical areas and assist during care.
• Place and finish restorations; polish and apply fluoride.
• Observe, document, and communicate patient conditions with providers.
• Take x-rays and review patient health history.
• Maintain charts and assist dentist in records; support lab functions.
• Assist during anesthesia as directed by the dentist.
