Job summary

Aviva Health in Oregon is seeking an experienced Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to support dentists and hygienists. Under the supervision of the EFDA Supervisor, you will sterilize instruments, prepare operatories, document treatments, and ensure patient safety and HIPAA compliance.

Candidates should hold radiology and EFDA certification, a high school diploma, and BLS. Dental records experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Radiology and EFDA certification required.
• BLS certification required or ability to obtain on hire.
• Dental or EFDA experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic dental records preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Able to cross-train as Dental Patient Services Representative.

Responsibilities

• Sterilizes dental instruments and maintains equipment.
• Maintains infection control and uses PPE.
• Prepares patients, obtains vital signs, and reviews medical history.
• Charts patient information in the electronic dental record.
• Performs routine laboratory functions and handles models for labs.
• Prepares operatories and assists dentists and hygienists.
• Completes tasks within established timeframes.
• Follows HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
