Job summary

ProSmile Holdings, LLC is seeking an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) for our Operations team in Maryland. The EFDA will perform advanced chairside duties, assist dentists across restorative, endodontic, and surgical procedures, and ensure sterilization and infection control standards are met.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends, a competitive hourly wage of $28.00–$32.00 and a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program and attainment of state licensure or certification as a dental assistant.
• Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) training/certification.
• Knowledge of dental assisting techniques and infection control practices.
• Proficiency in dental radiography techniques and state certification requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials for dental procedures in a clean, organized, and sterile environment.
• Assist the dentist during procedures including operative, restorative, endodontic, periodontic and oral surgery tasks.
• Provide comfort and address patient questions to ensure a positive dental experience.
• Perform expanded functions such as restorations, temporary crowns, and preliminary impressions under supervision.
• Take and mount dental radiographs, maintain radiographic records, and ensure radiation safety compliance.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatory surfaces; monitor sterilization processes.
• Educate patients on oral health practices and preventative care.
• Assist with scheduling, reminders, and basic billing tasks; complete charting and documentation.
