Job summary

Drdenniswells in the Elizabethtown area is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our clinically led team. You will assist the dentist during treatments, help patients feel comfortable, and handle operatory setup and radiographs.

Qualifications

• Dental Assistant Certificate required by state regulations.
• X-ray certification required by state regulations.
• Experience with infection control and sterilization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures while helping patients feel comfortable.
• Set up and breakdown operatory post treatment.
• Take dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Manage infection control by preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
• Provide patients with follow-up instructions following all dental treatment procedures.
• Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

This is a clinical working environment where potential exposure to hazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens is possible. Requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, leaning, and bending up to 8 hours a day. Will be required to carry, transport, and use tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
