Job summary

Commonwealth Healthcare, LLC seeks an EEG Technologist to perform Standard EEGs, Auditory and Visual Evoked Potentials, and related tests for inpatients and outpatients under department policies.

The role requires 1 year patient care experience, 3-5 years EEG lab experience preferred, BLS and EEG tech certifications, and a commitment to patient education and CQI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1 year of previous patient care/healthcare experience required.
• 3-5 years EEG lab experience preferred
• BLS & R. EEG T,R. EP T required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Graduate of a two year program in EEG and/or Evoked Potential Testing recognized by ABRET preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs Standard EEGs, Auditory and Visual Evoked Response, Median-Tibial Somato-sensory testing as individual tests or “Full Battery” which comprises all of the above.
• Educates the patient/patient family on the testing process.
• Performs clerical duties including scheduling, billing, and filing reports.
• Participates in CQI initiatives.
• Participates in departmental education and training.
• Assesses the quality of testing and testing equipment.
• Maintains and supports patient’s rights to care, privacy and respect.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.

• Performs Standard EEG’s, Auditory and Visual Evoked Response, Median-Tibial Somato-sensory testing as individual tests or “Full Battery” which comprises all of the above (except EEG). These are performed on in-patients and outpatients of all ages in accordance with Emerson Hospital and Neurology Departmental policies and Procedures.
• Technologists trained and certified in EPT will perform standard EEG testing. EEG technologists who are not trained/certified to do so, shall not perform EPT.
• Educates the patient/patient family on the testing process.
