Job summary

Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA is seeking an EEG Tech for a Per Diem role. You will perform electroencephalographic and neurological testing procedures on in-patients and outpatients, reporting to the Director of Cardio/Pulmonary/Neurology/Sleep Disorders.

The ideal candidate has an ABRET-preferred EEG program, BLS certification, and strong communication skills, with prior EEG lab experience encouraged. This position offers day shifts and a competitive hourly pay range.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two year EEG and/or Evoked Potential Testing program recognized by ABRET is preferred.
• On-the-job training may be provided in lieu of a formal program, as determined by Medical Director.

About this role

Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Cardio/Pulmonary/Neurology/Sleep Disorders, performs a variety of electroencephalographic (EEG) and neurological testing procedures on in-patients and outpatients.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a two year program in EEG and/or Evoked Potential Testing recognized by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) preferred.
• The Hospital will provide competency-based on-the-job training if cleared by Medical Director, in lieu of a two year program. The duration of training and proficiency will be determined by the Administrative Director and Medical Director.

Experience

• 1 year of previous patient care/healthcare experience required.
• Three to five years EEG lab experience preferred.

Licensure and/or Certification

• BLS healthcare provider required.
• R. EEG T., R. EP T., and/or CNIM preferred.

Skills

• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to make patients comfortable with testing.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Computer skills required.
• Ability to maintain confidential information
