Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or related field or two years of direct patient care experience
• Completion of an EEG Technician Trainee Program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ABRET Credentialing for a Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.) within two years of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform electroencephalographic examinations.
• Select predetermined montage combinations to obtain recordings, recognize artifacts and take steps to minimize them.
• Monitor other physiological signals such as EMG, ECG, EOG, and respiration.
• Observe patient with video equipment and ensure EEG data alignment with tape, focus, and lighting.
• Set up patient for continuous bedside monitoring with video when indicated.
• Instruct nursing staff on event button use and video care.
• Abstract relevant clinical information from patient records and obtain additional details.
