Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking an EEG Tech I in the Neurophysiology Department to contribute to inpatient monitoring and diagnostic services. This entry-level role supports patient safety and electrode integrity during EMU and 8-hour VEEG.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, communicate effectively with staff, and gain hands-on experience with EEG equipment, electrode placement, and real-time video monitoring in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification.
• Enrollment in or completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Electrodiagnostic (EEG) program.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to remain calm and focused while monitoring multiple patients simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient safety while monitoring in the EMU or during an 8-hour VEEG.
• Ensure electrode integrity and monitor 2-8 patients via video and monitors.
• Collaborate with neurophysiology team to interpret signals and ensure data quality.

General Summary:

• EEG technologist I is an entry level position in the Neurophysiology Department.
• The tech will maintain patient safety while the patient is being monitored in the EMU (epilepsy monitoring unit) or while undergoing an 8 hour VEEG.
• The tech is responsible for ensuring electrode integrity, visually watching and tracking (via camera) epilepsy patients (2-8 patients) via monitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Enrollment in or completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Electrodiagnostic (EEG) program

• Ability to remain calm and focused while monitoring multiple patients simultaneously
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• ASET or ABRET certification (or eligibility to pursue)
• Prior experience in a clinical or healthcare setting
• Familiarity with EEG equipment and electrode application techniques
