This position involves a formal on-the-job education program (accredited through ABRET EEG Pathway II) starting September 2025. The program includes approximately 24 weeks of on-site didactic instruction and clinical rotations. It features small group/paired workshops, independent coursework, and classroom exams. The initial schedule is Monday-Thursday (9.5 hours), with adjustments as training progresses to include various days, nights, and weekends. Upon completion (Feb/March 2026), permanent schedules will be assigned based on departmental needs, with anticipated shifts being three 12.5-hour night and/or weekend shifts.
Responsibilities include preparing and providing neurophysiological testing and monitoring in clinical, Neurotelemetry/EMU, and intraoperative settings according to departmental guidelines. Demonstrates proficiency in ICU, epilepsy, neonatal, and complex neurophysiological patterns. Works independently in recording and monitoring patient data, reports findings, and triages patient care needs. Maintains high-quality recordings, troubleshooting techniques, and collaborates with less experienced team members by sharing knowledge and precepting peers.
