Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee seeks a Neurodiagnostic Technician to monitor EEGs, operate recording equipment, and alert clinical staff to seizures or paroxysmal events. You will document observations in EMR and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and technologists to ensure accurate data collection and patient safety.

Training is provided in-house, with a focus on recognizing clinical events, artifact reduction, and maintaining compliance with hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer tasks.
• BLS certification required within 90 days; LTM 100 in-house training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Monitors system and camera controls.
• Alerts physician, nursing and/or clinical staff when seizures or other paroxysmal events occur.
• Communicates with patients and clinical staff to obtain information when events occur.
• Documents observations on patient’s EEG recording and in EMR.
• Completes hospital training to alert supervisor and activate hospital systems per protocols.
• Assists neurodiagnostic technologists with supplies, electrode removal and disinfection.
• Performs procedures per lab standards and adjusts controls to obtain optimal recordings.
• Recognizes artifacts and documents or mitigates them.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems and communicates with biomed or support.
