Job summary

Yellow Brick Road is seeking an Educator’s Aide to support Lead Educators in creating a nurturing, inclusive learning environment for children. You will help implement play-based activities, supervise students, and assist with daily routines while communicating with families and upholding licensing requirements.

This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and growth, with responsibilities spanning classroom care, behavior guidance, and family updates.

Qualifications

• Must meet the Department of Human Services (DHS) Educator’s Aide qualification requirements.
• Experience with young children in a childcare setting is preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet physical demands: standing/sitting for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs, bending/kneeling.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or willing to obtain within 30 days.

• Provide updates on daily activities using the center’s platform.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist the Lead Educator in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that support student’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, aligned with early learning standards.
• Help maintain a positive classroom culture that fosters a sense of belonging, safety, and curiosity.

Child Supervision and Interaction:

• Provide active supervision to ensure student's safety and engagement in all classroom and outdoor activities.
• Assistin observing and recording developmental milestones under the guidance of the Lead Educator.

Classroom Management Support:

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of the classroom, including toys, surfaces, equipment, and other areas, to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for students.
• Supportpositive behavior guidance strategies.

Family Communication:

• Greet families and support positive daily interactions during drop-off and pick-up times, under the direction of the Lead Educator and Director.
• Help provide updates using the center’s communication platform regarding student ’s daily activities, meals, rest, and learning experiences.

What You’ll Need:

• Must meet the Department of Human Services (DHS) Educator’s Aide qualification requirements.
• Previous experience working with young children in a childcare setting is preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which may include - standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Lifting and carrying young children and classroom materials - up to 40lbs. Bending, stooping, and kneeling to interact with children at their level. Ability to respond quickly to emergencies or situations requiring physical intervention.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for working in a childcare setting.
• Must possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
