Job summary

Yellow Brick Road is seeking an Educator’s Aide to support Lead Educators in delivering a nurturing, inclusive learning environment for young children. You’ll assist with lesson activities, supervise students, and help maintain safe, engaging daily routines under guidance.

You’ll participate in play-based learning, support family communication, and help with basic classroom tasks while meeting DHS requirements.

Qualifications

• Must meet the Department of Human Services (DHS) Educator’s Aide qualification requirements.
• Previous experience working with young children in a childcare setting is preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which may include - standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Lifting and carrying young children and classroom materials - up to 40lbs.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for working in a childcare setting.
• Must possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Educator in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that support student’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, aligned with early learning standards.
• Help maintain a positive classroom culture that fosters a sense of belonging, safety, and curiosity.
• Provide active supervision to ensure student's safety and engagement in all classroom and outdoor activities.
• Assist in observing and recording developmental milestones under the guidance of the Lead Educator.
• Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of the classroom, including toys, surfaces, equipment, and other areas, to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for students.
• Support positive behavior guidance strategies.
• Greet families and support positive daily interactions during drop-off and pick-up times, under the direction of the Lead Educator and Director.
• Help provide updates using the center’s communication platform regarding student’s daily activities, meals, rest, and learning experiences.

What You’ll Do:

• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for working in a childcare setting.
• Must possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
