This position is a tenure track, 12-month appointment on the Columbus, Georgia campus. Additional duties will be required/assigned during the summer. The departmental assignment will be based on degree type and experience.**Responsibilities**:The Mercer University School of Medicine has three four year- medical school campuses located in Macon, Georgia: Savannah, Georgia; and Columbus Georgia. The candidate for this position will be based primarily in Columbus though there is an expectation that all bioethics and professionalism faculty will teach on all three campuses both virtually and physically. The selected candidate will work closely with the Chair of the Department of Bioethics and Medical Humanities (Brian H. Childs, PhD—for inquires email childs\\[e-mail]) and the other faculty in the department in creating an integrated ethics and humanities curriculum in both the pre-clinical and clerkship years. Faculty are engaged in a variety of pedagogical modes including Team Based Learning and Problem Based Learning. In addition, the selected candidate will be involved in special programs such as faculty development in ethics education, teaching and grand rounds in our affiliated medical centers, sponsoring student projects and research in bioethics and the medical humanities, as well as faculty committee participation.
