Job summary

Mercer University School of Medicine seeks highly qualified educators to join its non-tenure track, 12-month faculty on the Savannah, GA campus. Candidates should bring broad training and enthusiasm for teaching in an integrated pre-clerkship medical school curriculum, including active learning methods.

Teaching will focus on cross-disciplinary, case-based and team-based approaches in Biomedical Sciences, with expectation of scholarship and service to the medical and graduate programs.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree (M.D. or equivalent, Ph.D.) from an accredited college/university in an appropriate discipline.
• Experience in health professions education, particularly with active learning in biomedical sciences.
• Experience developing learning resources and facilitating large group interactive sessions.
• Ability to contribute to scholarship in biomedical science or medical education.

Responsibilities

• Teach in an integrated pre-clerkship medical school curriculum using small and large group case-based and team-based learning.
• Develop and implement the curriculum in the Microbiology and/or Immunology disciplines; engage in assessment development.
