Department Information

This position is not part of the classified personnel system; applications will be accepted from Residents and Non-Residents of Colorado. Incumbent will be required to complete work for CDE within Colorado. This is a part-time, 40% role.

Description Of Job

Work Environment:

  • Part-time (40%), Regional Remote with travel to site locations
  • Office hours typically Mon-Fri, 8 am-5 pm
  • Extended hours may be required
  • Up to 10-40% travel within Colorado for meetings/training
  • Remote (Home) office required
  • Reporting to work locations as needed

Position Summary

The Educator Effectiveness Regional Specialist serves as a resource and coach to school districts and BOCES, providing information, professional development, and technical assistance for educator evaluation systems.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support district and BOCES leadership in developing educator evaluation systems
  • Assess regional needs and develop support plans
  • Collaborate on the development and support of evaluation systems and tools
  • Identify and share quality evaluation strategies
  • Facilitate training and professional learning sessions
  • Maintain communication with regional contacts
  • Understand the educational landscape and maintain political awareness
  • Contribute to web content and resources
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA or higher in education or related field
  • 7 years K-12 education experience
  • Knowledge of Colorado Educator Effectiveness system
  • Experience in coaching, observation, and evaluation
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Experience in small to medium districts or BOCES
  • Self-starter with good follow-through
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading educator evaluation implementation
  • Experience with COPMS in RANDA
  • Experience in large-scale systems and change management
  • Colorado Educator or Principal/Administrator credential

Conditions of Employment

  • Willingness to undergo background check
  • Ability to travel 10-40%
  • Extended work hours as needed
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to operate a motor vehicle
