Job summary

Spruce Mountain Primary School in Maine is hiring an Educational Technician I for Pre K on a part-time schedule (5 hours/day, 4 days/week). The role involves supporting students with diverse learning needs, implementing IEPs and behavior plans, and collaborating with the special education team and Pre K teachers.

Training will be provided. Eligible applicants must obtain or hold Maine DOE authorization as an Educational Technician I and comply with CHRC requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible and apply for or have authorization as an educational technician I through the Maine Department of Education (MDOE).
• Maine State Law requires all school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) for the Department of Education.
• Experience working with students who have social and emotional challenges

Description

RSU #73 is looking for a caring, compassionate, and patient person to join the special education team supporting our Pre K program. Students have a wide variety of academic, functional, and behavioral needs that must be addressed in ways that foster student development and growth. The successful candidate will closely collaborate with special education program team members and the Pre K teachers to manage student behaviors, implement IEPs and behavior plans, and support students in the regular and special education setting both in small groups and one-on-one to meet students’ unique needs. Training will be provided.
