Job summary

Servingschools is seeking a Preschool Educational Technician I/BHP to support children with IEPs in KVCAP preschool classrooms in Maine. You will work under a certified teacher in early childhood special education settings, helping with developmental goals and daily routines.

Current Maine DOE Ed Tech I Certification is required. Pay ranges are $18.88 to $20.67 per hour, with BHP training provided and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure inclusive, meaningful learning

Qualifications

• Current Educational Technician certification and successful background check required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise individual students or small groups in center-based programs under indirect professional supervision.

Description

The Educational Technician supports the instruction and development of children with identified developmental disabilities under the guidance of a certified teacher. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in preschool settings and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A current Educational Technician certification and successful completion of a criminal history background check are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise individual students or small groups in center-based programs under indirect professional supervision.
• Support the implementation of educational programs, contributing to curriculum planning to create an inclusive environment with necessary accommodations for optimal learning.
• Assist in preparing classroom materials and supporting classroom management, as well as individual student needs including but not limited to therapy carryover, toileting, eating, dressing and daily living needs.
• Demonstrate developmentally appropriate, positive language and behavior as a model for children and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, advocate for student needs, and provide follow-through on recommendations under the direction of the Early Childhood Special Education Teacher.
• Contribute to the completion and maintenance of individual observational child assessments.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all student and employee information.

Minimum Qualifications

• Obtain and maintain authorization as an Educational Technician with the Maine Department of Education
• Successful background, criminal records, fingerprinting and reference check
