Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide an educational program for students with communication disorders under the guidance of the Special Education Director and site principal. The role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and coordination with staff, students and families.

Qualifications

• Oregon certification/licensure as determined by ASHA CCCs (Certificate of Clinical Competency)
• Oregon TSPC endorsement for Speech Impaired or Oregon State Board of Examiners of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists

Responsibilities

• Screening and referral to identify students with speech/language disorders
• Complete IEP paperwork and participate in IEP Team meetings as required by IDEA
• Plan and present evidence-based therapy programs for district students
• Provide specially designed instruction and direct services to eligible students
• Work with students individually and in small groups in pull-out and classroom settings
• Provide augmentative communication services and coordinate with district staff
• Travel between district schools and bill Medicaid when appropriate
• Uphold district policies and regulations and district calendar
• Supervise SLPAs and collaborate with staff to coordinate the program
