Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to support districtwide students in 2026-2027. The role involves collaboration with administrators, teachers, and special education staff to provide comprehensive communication services and related evaluations under IDEA.

The ideal candidate will hold an SLP master’s degree, ASHA certification, and state licensure, with experience in planning individualized intervention plans and using augmentative/alternative communication technologies.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Communication Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology.
  • ASHA Certification required.
  • Successful completion of a state-approved SLP specialty-area test and practicum/internship.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement service-delivery model for identified students based on assessment results.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local laws, rules, policies, guidelines, and procedures; monitor case law as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records through data collection.
  • Identify evidence-based practices and translate them into intervention plans and strategies.
  • Adapt general and special education curriculum to meet individual student requirements.
  • Collaborate with students, educators, families, and community to deliver integrated communication services.
  • Provide culturally- and developmentally-appropriate interventions with measurable goals.
  • Develop setting-appropriate intervention plans with achievable objectives.
  • Maintain a safe learning environment conducive to achievement.
  • Utilize current state-of-the-art technology to enhance communication skills.
  • Model use of augmentative/alternative/assistive technology.
  • Conduct comprehensive educational evaluations for hearing/communication disorders under IDEA.
  • Participate in IEP/504 team reviews to inform instruction and interventions.
  • Case manage students identified with hearing impairments for IEP purposes.
  • Coordinate with parents, teachers, and professionals to ensure service delivery.
  • Knowledge of evaluation principles for communication and swallowing disorders (birth-21).
  • Familiar with child-find processes and procedures.
  • Manage and troubleshoot hearing equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
