Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years interpreting experience (paid or unpaid).
• Bachelor’s in Deaf Studies with ASL/English interpreting or related field and 1 year interpreting experience.
• NIC RID certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend in-person and virtual classes, guidance sessions, tutoring sessions, and events to provide signing/interpretation.
• Convey full meaning using signed English and ASL.
• Assess and report student progress in communication skills to staff.
• Provide interpreting at ceremonies, tests, and staff meetings as needed.
• Work collaboratively with other interpreters and maintain materials for interpreting jobs.
