Job summary

The Canton Local School District is seeking an Educational Paraprofessional for the 2025-26 school year, 4 hours per day on a temporary basis. Reports to the Principal and works to support student learning and behavior.

Candidates must have a high school diploma (associates degree preferred) and obtain an Education Aide Permit with ESEA Endorsement through ODE. Strong communication, patience, and collaboration with staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent); associates degree preferred.
• Must obtain an Education Aide Permit with ESEA Endorsement through ODE.
• Must be able to monitor student learning and behavior.
• Must have good public relations skills and punctuality.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• must have a high school diploma (or equivalent); associates degree preferred
• must obtain an acceptable performance on qualification test (includes reading, math and computer skills)
• must obtain an Education Aide Permit with ESEA Endorsement through ODE
• must be able to monitor student learning and behavior
• must be able to motivate special needs children
• must have ability to take directions and work collaboratively with staff members
• must exhibit patience and flexibility in all situations and demonstrate a strong work ethic
• must possess an optimistic attitude and good public relations skills
• must have a good record of punctuality and demonstrate building average attendance
• must have a sound belief that ALL children can and will learn and evidence of emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved
• must support the district beliefs
• must perform other duties as assigned
• must have an acceptable background check and complete all required personnel records
