DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide effective ASL interpretation for a Deaf individual in the school and classroom environment, based upon age and language usage abilities.

1. 1) Provide effective ASL interpretation for classroom announcements, assemblies, field trips, and other school related activities.
2. 2) Collaborates with teachers, paraprofessionals and support staff to ensure student needs are met in areas of academic instruction.
3. 3) Be willing to preview educational and curricular materials as shared by educators to interpret effectively.
4. 4) Sharing community resources and educational information with parents of students with disabilities.
5. 5) Collaborate with teachers, principals and other support staff to ensure understanding of student needs and best practices to address access to language in whole group, small group and individualized settings.
6. 6) Continuous learning regarding best practices in educational interpreting.
7. 7) Other duties as assigned by administration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited interpreter training program.
