TrulyHired seeks an Educational Interpreter (ASL) for STRUTHERS Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year. The interpreter will provide classroom ASL interpretation and support communication between Deaf students, teachers, and families.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in interpreter training, Ohio interpreter licensing, and current background checks, with strong ASL proficiency and prior education experience. Collaboration and ongoing professional development are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited interpreter training program.
• Current BCI/FBI background check required.
• Associate Licensing as an Interpreter for the Hearing Impaired in Ohio.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).

Responsibilities

• Provide effective ASL interpretation for classroom announcements, assemblies, field trips, and school activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals and staff to meet student needs in instruction.
• Preview educational materials to interpret accurately.
• Share community resources and information with parents of students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to address language access in various settings.
• Engage in ongoing learning about best practices in educational interpreting.
• Other duties as assigned by administration.
