How You’ll Help:
The Educational Counselor is to provide professional educational consultation and academic support to international high school students with diverse cultural backgrounds; innovate the IGP educational counseling services and educational programs to adept to international students with diverse cultural background; build and launch the innovative educational counseling service model to promote international students’ growth and their college candidacy; and assist students in their high school career and college admissions process by implementing the innovative educational counseling programs and promoting social entrepreneurship.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct effective research on IGP educational counseling service, promote innovation in paradigm, strategies, values, and culture in IGP counseling system, and launch a new IGP counseling model;
  • Conduct assessment on students via innovated educational counseling programs and share with fellow Educational Counselors. Assist students and parents/guardians to interpret the assessment result and explore career options;
  • Create and build innovative solutions to dramatically improve and promote IGP’s educational counseling service system and test and improve the solutions by implementing innovative methods for IGP’s strategic growth;
  • Plan and launch a new venture in Educational Counseling including providing psychological, social, and emotional support, crisis intervention;
  • Guide students on the development of their leadership and entrepreneurship skills, professional and academic abilities and promote international students’ cultural integration;
  • Counsel individual students to help them understand and overcome personal, social, or behavioral problems affecting their educational or vocational situations;
  • Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, administrators, and other InGenius professionals to discuss students’ progress, solve behavioral, academic, and related problems, and determine the priorities for students and their resource in need;
  • Counsel students regarding college degree programs, admission requirements, and financial aid opportunities etc.;
    Refer students to degree programs based on interests, aptitudes, and educational assessments.

You'll be a good fit if you:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in education with a focus on Entrepreneurship/Innovation in Education or a closely related field;
  • A Minimum of 6 months of college application or career planning related experience;
  • A strong desire to be creative and innovative in entrepreneurial education;
  • Ability to launch an innovative venture and drive innovation in educational counseling;
  • Critical academic knowledge and entrepreneurial mindset necessary to create innovative solutions in educational counseling;
  • Thorough knowledge in education foundations, business essentials, and entrepreneurial leaderships;
  • Ability to create the next generation of high-impact education programs, products, and services;
  • In-depth knowledge in the connections between education philosophy, practice, culture, and innovation.
  • Being mission-driven with the ability to bring to light positive impact to the educational counseling team;
  • Ability to utilize entrepreneurial research theories and practices and embed entrepreneurial thinking into educational services;
  • Foundational skills necessary to think and behave entrepreneurially within educational systems to solve intractable problems;
  • Knowledge of the US education system and college admission process and trends;
  • Be able to conduct critical thinking, make judgment with logic and reasoning and be keen on identifying potential problems, finding solutions, and making feasible plans;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills for working with students, parents, and team members.
