Melmark New England is seeking an Educational Coordinator for a 1-year position to support students aged 3–21 with emotional, developmental, and behavioral needs. The role partners with Lead Special Education Teachers to implement advanced curricula and ensure alignment with Massachusetts DESE standards.
The ideal candidate holds a Masters in Education or Special Education, BCBA certification, and at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a special education setting; exceptional clinical and
BCBA certification is required.
Melmark is a not-for-profit organization providing clinically-sophisticated evidence-based special education, residential, vocational, and therapeutic services for children and adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, developmental and intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, medical complexities, and other neurological and genetic disorders.
The Educational Coordinator is responsible for fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment designed to promote intellectual, emotional, and social growth. They will collaborate in developing/implementing teaching plans that are appropriate to the ages and populations served, specifically children and adolescents (ages 3-21 years) with emotional, developmental and/or behavioral needs. The Educational Coordinator ensures implementation of the curriculum in conjunction with Lead Special Education Teachers, and in collaboration with Massachusetts DESE Educational Administrators. Populations served are intensely challenging. Educational Coordinators are expected to implement highly technical clinical and teaching programs that require them to be constantly alert, attentive and ready to respond to student’s needs.
