Western Governors University (WGU) is seeking qualified individuals with healthcare or nursing education experience to contribute to a Course Congruence Check project for our Comprehensive Health Assessment course in higher education. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) play a key role in shaping curriculum by bringing their professional expertise and academic knowledge to the development of high-quality learning experiences for WGU students.

This is a part-time/project-based position, where you would work with WGU as an Independent Contractor. Must reside in the United States.

General Description of Other Compensation and Benefits:

This is an independent contractor position that is not eligible for other compensation and benefits.

Project Type:

Course Congruence Check

• In the Course Congruence Check, SMEs look at curriculum and assessments and provide feedback on alignment between these elements.
• SMEs perform a side-by-side comparison, answering one simple question: "Does the course provide adequate information for students to be successful on each task prompt or assessment item?" SMEs answer "yes" or "no" for each prompt or item on the assessment.
• For performance assessments, SMEs also provide feedback on whether they feel that each rubric aspect appropriately measures candidate competence of the corresponding task prompt.
• Review may use the following deliverables and technologies: Word documents, Google documents, Excel spreadsheets, Question Authoring and Delivery (QuAD). Review may involve a full review of course content.

Qualifications:

Required

• Minimum of MSN Minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching and/or course content development experience in mentoring or orientation in a clinical setting.
• Minimum three (3) years experience in assessment development and/or course development for online courses.
• Minimum three (3) years experience with online and/or competency-based education.

Preferred

• Licensure Knowledge: In-depth understanding of state and national licensure requirements for nursing programs at the bachelor’s level.
• Program Development: Experience in developing and implementing educational programs aligned with regulatory standards and market needs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Strong collaboration skills to work with internal and external stakeholders to enhance program offerings.

Time Commitment:

3 hours

*All work will be self-paced, and no specific meetings will be required. Meetings will be scheduled on an as needed basis, or at the request of the SME*

Compensation:

$150
