Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent.
• Experience: At least one year of instructional support.
• Licensure: Possession of, or ability to obtain, NM PED instructional assistant license and Substitute Teacher license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for instructional instructors; set up demonstrations, materials and equipment for classroom lectures; promote a positive learning environment.
• Tutor students and monitor progress; interpret and explain instructions; provide updates on student progress to instructors.
• Assist the teacher in evaluating students; prepare learning activities; proofread and mark papers; report progress to instructors.
• Review assignments, correct homework; administer tests to complete lesson plans as directed.
• Oversee classroom activities in the absence of an instructor; maintain classroom and school discipline.
