Job summary

Los Alamos Public Schools, Aspen Elementary, is hiring an Educational Assistant General Education to support instructors, tutor students, and handle classroom materials. The role includes clerical tasks, attendance, and basic classroom supervision under supervision of a teacher.

The position is a 1.00 FTE, seven-hour day, with an August 4, 2026 to May 28, 2027 contract and a $19.13 hourly rate. NM PED licensure and related fees are discussed with HR.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of the twelfth grade.
• Experience: One year instructional support experience.
• License/Certificate: NM driver’s license and Educational Assistant or Substitute Teacher license as required by the District or State of New Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing materials and demonstrations for classroom lectures.
• Provide tutoring and other assistance to students and monitor progress.
• Assist in evaluating students and preparing learning activities as directed.
