Job summary

EAGLE College Prep Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant to support scholars in the classroom and grade level. You will work with scholars, parents and administrators to develop teaching and classroom management skills.

You will provide tutoring, assist in lesson planning, and help maintain records while upholding high academic and behavioral standards for students in a structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree, 60 college credit hours or paraprofessional exam completion.
• At least one year of teacher experience is a plus.
• Experience working with youth and families in low-income urban communities.
• Proficient with technology.
• Valid teaching credential or willingness to attain one preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive, achievement-oriented learning environment.
• Assist in lesson preparation and material gathering.
• Help teacher achieve high student outcomes and participate in planning.
• Apply classroom management techniques and appropriate corrections.
• Maintain attendance, behaviour and achievement records.
• Hold scholars accountable to high academic and behavioral standards.
• Support lessons, assessments and character education.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring or small group instruction as guided by the lead teacher.
• Assist with technology, login, and computer usage procedures.
• Monitor student behavior during transitions and meals.
