Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree, 60 college credit hours or paraprofessional exam completion.
• At least one year of teacher experience is a plus.
• Experience working with youth and families in low-income urban communities.
• Proficient with technology.
• Valid teaching credential or willingness to attain one preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide vigilant supervision for student safety and well-being.
• Support a positive, achievement-oriented learning environment.
• Assist teacher in lesson preparation and planning.
• Maintain accurate records (attendance, behavior, achievement data).
• Help with on-task behavior and classroom management.
• Support students through tutoring or small groups as guided by lead teacher.
• Assist with educational technology and computer usage.
• Monitor students during transitions (lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal).
• Recognize and reward scholar achievement and character development.
