Job summary

Bay Village Board of Education is seeking an Educational Aide (1 on 1) for the 2026-2027 school year at Bay Middle School. The role supports certified staff and helps students meet instructional goals within the classroom, under supervision of a certified staff member.

The schedule is part-time, with 3 hours per day during the school year, and the pay is hourly and commensurate with experience. Building principal supervision is noted.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma
• Educational Aide Permit as required by the Ohio Department of Education
• Meets all legally mandated health requirements
• Provides documented evidence of a clear criminal record

Responsibilities

• Facilitate instruction aligned with student IEP objectives and classroom goals
• Meet daily with the classroom teacher to discuss student needs and strategies
• Review instructional goals and implement strategies in the instructional process
• Prepare materials needed to support learning activities
• Monitor student progress and document outcomes as directed
• Complete assessment techniques to measure growth
• Follow schedule to provide services to the student and teacher
• Participate in in‑service trainings and apply skills learned

We are looking to welcome an Educational Aide (1 on 1) into our Rocket family for the 2026-2027 school year.

Position details:

Salary: Educational Aide Hourly Schedule and commensurate with experience

Schedule: School year calendar, 3 hours per day,9:30am to 12:35pm

Direct Supervisor: Building principal, Bay Middle School

Position Purpose:

Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives.

Credentials

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Educational Aide Permit as required by the Ohio Department of Education.
• Meets all legally mandated health requirements.
• Provides documented evidence of a clear criminal record as required by law.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to facilitate instruction related to specific objectives described in the student's IEP and as prioritized by the classroom teacher.
• Meet and confer daily with the classroom teacher regarding specific educational needs and strategies to assist the student meets the goals of his/her IEP.
• Review instructional goals and strategies as they are to be implemented in the instructional process.
• Request, obtain, and prepare materials needed to implement learning strategies.
• Check progress and attend to assigned student(s) as needed.
• Document student progress toward objectives as directed by the teacher and or supervisor.
• Complete appropriate assessment techniques to measure student growth.
• Follow assigned schedule to provide services to assigned student(s) and teacher.
• Attends in-service and training activities as assigned and applies skills learned to the job.

Additional Duties:

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

• Duties may include communicating needed assistance to assigned aides and volunteers.
