Job summary

KIC seeks an Education & Training Director to provide strategic leadership over Education, SSEATEC, and Facilities/Workforce Development programs in Alaska. You will plan, direct, and evaluate operations, supervise managers and staff, and oversee budgets and grants.

The role requires ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while fostering collaboration with tribal administrations, funding agencies, and community partners. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum five years of supervisory and management experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise department managers, supervisors, and staff.
• Establish program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate educational and workforce development programs.
• Manage departmental budgets, grants, contracts, and financial resources.
• Proficient in grant writing and grant reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Tribal, Federal, State, BIA, Public Law, and CFR requirements.
• Hire, train, mentor, evaluate, and discipline staff as needed.
• Promote a positive, productive, and culturally responsive work environment.
• Represent KIC at meetings, conferences, and community events.
• Build and maintain partnerships with funding agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations.
• Prepare reports, grant proposals, program plans, and presentations.
• Monitor program outcomes and implement improvements to enhance effectiveness.
• Participate in organizational planning and senior leadership activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
