Job summary

SER Metro-Detroit is seeking a Youth Leadership and Engagement Specialist to manage leadership council(s), alumni, and service-learning teams. The role motivates and mentors participants to engage in service-learning and civic engagement, while building skills for effective representation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or a four-year degree in human services related field.
• Three years minimum experience working with youth.
• Three years minimum experience in customer or community service.
• Strong communication and initiative in leadership settings.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute leadership activities and team-building sessions for youth.
• Coordinate and lead civic engagement initiatives at local and national levels.
• Facilitate Youth Leadership Council(s) and ensure active youth voice.
• Provide mentorship to support voice, self-advocacy, and decision-making.
• Maintain youth records and support core youth development programming.
