Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support classroom activities under a licensed teacher. Responsibilities include supervising students during lunch and play, assisting with instructional materials, and helping with homework grading and attendance reporting.

Qualified candidates will hold a valid ISBE paraprofessional license or have completed 60 college credits with credentialing options. This on-site role offers benefits and structured daily duties within CPS facilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with and for school-aged children, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.
• Good knowledge of English grammar and spelling; basic math.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment and assist with classroom activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision of students during meals and outside activities.
• Assist teachers with preparing materials and displaying student work.
• Greet and direct visitors; monitor corridors and student IDs.
• Assist with collecting and grading homework and exams.
• Support transportation and book checkout duties as needed.
