Job summary

Qualifications

• 60 college credits and/or a two-year degree from an accredited college or university.
• In lieu of college credits or degree, Paraeducator Assessments may be completed with passing Minnesota scores.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with elementary age students preferred.
• Computer skills are preferred.
• Flexibility and ability to work as part of a cooperative team.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support and assist with IEP goals under certified staff.
• Assist students with personal cares as needed.
• Follow Behavior Intervention Plans and Emergency Healthcare Plans.
• Document student progress and communicate with teachers and related staff.
• Use devices for communication with non-verbal students (e.g., iPads).
• Move between settings to meet students at their level.
• Supervise students during meals, recess, and field trips.
• Maintain confidentiality and build strong relationships with diverse students.
• Attend to safety, health, and welfare of students in various environments.
