Job summary

Warsaw Community Schools Lincoln Elementary in Warsaw, Indiana seeks a Specialized Paraprofessional to support the classroom teacher and help meet students' individual needs.

The role includes implementing IEP and Behavior Plans, assisting with group and 1-on-1 activities, helping with health needs, and supervising during drills and field trips. 36 weeks, part-time, non-exempt, start immediately.

Qualifications

• Education – High School Diploma (minimum), 60 college credits/Associate’s Degree/ability to pass the ParaPro Assessment
• Experience – Evidence of experience working with students
• Required: Hepatitis B Vaccine and Crisis Prevention Intervention training

Responsibilities

• Implements IEP and Behavior Plan under the supervision of the teacher.
• Assists the teacher with the learning activities of students in group and 1-on-1 settings.
• Assists students with health and self-help needs, including feeding, toileting, positioning, and dressing.
• Assists students in developing social and emotional skills.
• Supervises students during drills, assemblies, recess, field trips, specials, and general education.
• Participates in training as determined by the supervising teacher and principal.
• Maintains confidentiality as defined in policies and procedures.
