The Gloucester Public Schools district seeks an Education Support Professional for Beeman Memorial Elementary School in Gloucester, MA, to support a Grade 4 student with 1:1 paraprofessional services.

In this full-time role, you will assist the classroom teacher with instruction, manage the learning environment, reinforce concepts, and support students’ social, emotional, and academic growth. The position offers a 32.5-hour week and a salary range of $29,355–$38,268 with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, equivalent, or successful completion of ParaPro test required;
• Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Experience and/or education working with children with special needs, preferred.
• Ability to work cooperatively with classroom teacher(s), school adjustment counselors, and administrators.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, flexibility, and a genuine desire to support students with unique needs.

The 1:1 Paraprofessional assists the classroom teacher in delivering curriculum, managing the
classroom, and providing direct support to students. This role involves working primarily with one student
individually and in small groups, assisting with instructional activities, reinforcing learned concepts, and
helping to maintain a positive and organized learning environment. The paraprofessional supports the social,
emotional, and academic growth of all students.
